Character —
Character Name: Loki Laufeyson (Kid Loki)
Character Canon: Marvel-616
Character Age: appears around 11~13 physically and mentally, actually several millennia old but this current reincarnation has only been around for a year or so.
Canon Point: Before the Manchester Gods arc.
Link to History: Gods do not have history, they have story.
Inventory: An ordinary Starkphone and THORI!!!!
Abilities: At this canonpoint, he is capable of speech and breathing fire.
Personality: Probably the rudest dog alive, Thori yells and curses constantly. He's violent and wants little more than to destroy everything around him. Loki took him as his dog after Thori failed to find a home with anyone else, with the All-Mother claiming he was beyond saving. While Thori objected to his cute name and Loki as his master at first, he eventually grew to enjoy destroying Loki's enemies. BUT LATER ON THORI ALSO BETRAYS HIM SO? THERE IS THAT? Really, this dog is too much like his owner.
Powers —

Skills: Considering he's the Prince of Lies, Loki's main skills lie with his silver tongue. Without any powers, he's an excellent liar and able to deceive most anyone, even parts of his subconscious. In general he's skilled at any form of deception and subterfuge, as shown when the All-Mother essentially has him act as their secret agent. He can talk himself out of situations almost as easily as he talks himself into them. Aside from that, he's also well-versed in Midgardian internet culture and a quick study, able to learn the old tongue in a single evening.
Superpowers:
Superhuman physiology: As a Frost Giant who appears to be Asgardian, Loki possesses superhuman strength, dense tissue, durability, regeneration, stamina, and longevity. Basically, his body is very heavy and as an adult, a punch from the Hulk only causes him to get a black eye, nothing worse. He also heals quickly and ages very slowly. Bonus: being a god means he has Allspeak which means everyone who hears him can understand him as if he were speaking their native language.

AND while Kid Loki doesn't have a full set of powers in canon, upon arrival he'll receive a similar power set to the older Loki. Here's a description of his older self's powers!

Magic: The limits of Loki's magic are not well-defined. He's shown to be capable of illusions, shapeshifting, conjuring objects from thin air, defense/warding spells, amplifying others' abilities, energy projection, teleportation, interdimensional travel, time travel, and even altering reality itself. There's probably more that I'm forgetting that appear in like one issue from 1982 so forgive me. Lies/stories form the basis of most of his magic, ie: telling lies/stories and making them real. What limits he does have he often places on himself, such as his guilt manifesting as a separate person and taking his magic or being unable to shapeshift into forms that aren't "himself" because he only wants to be himself. It's easier to say then what Loki can't do. For example, he can't fly. He can't perform certain abilities without preparation(meaning time, materials, runes, spell circles). That said, what abilities require preparation changes depending on the comic. Generally speaking, he's almost always capable of shapeshifting(male form, female form, furry anthro form are the forms that have been shown), teleportation, and illusions.

Obviously a-okay on restrictions for gamebreaking abilities, please nerf this god. My main focuses with Kid Loki power-wise are going to be illusions, shapeshifting, energy projection, and teleporting.

Limitations: Loki is young and, despite his intelligence, very naive. His plans usually end up backfiring and having lots of unforeseen consequences, though he'd claim they never do. He'd also never had magic before, and has no idea how to use it which will make actually accessing his powers difficult for him. His older self struggled to use powerful spells when in his form, often tiring himself out to the point of collapse. Kid Loki likely has similar limitations in terms of strength, especially because he doesn't know or understand his limits at all.
Personality —
  • What were your character's most formative experiences?:
Although he was reborn in Paris, Loki's life didn't fully start until Thor found him and restored his memories. Thor reminded him he was Loki, and gave him his identity as the God of Mischief. Loki idolizes Thor, who's now fully become a big brother and almost father-like figure to him.

Upon returning to Asgard with Thor, though, Loki realized the extent of his past self's actions. Everyone hated him, several threatened to kill him, and no one but Thor thought of him positively. These reactions made Loki even more determined to prove himself as different from his past self, and that he could be a good person.

Eventually Loki was visited by a remnant of his past self, and he learned the reason Loki had sacrificed himself in the first place. The old Loki wanted to change more than anything, and chose death over stagnation. While Loki shares the need to change, he sees no need for the old Loki to still exist, and reduces him to his pet, an imaginary magpie he calls Ikol. Ikol becomes his guide and eventually kills him and takes over his body, yay!

  • What values, morals, and/or philosophies does your character live by, and how are those beliefs demonstrated? What happens when they have to compromise what they believe in?
Loki largely believes in change, and that change in all things is good. He wants to change from his past self and be more like Thor, and so tries to be heroic and do the right thing. However, Loki isn't Thor and he can't go running around saving the day and smacking people with a hammer. He realizes that while doing good he needs to still be Loki, and so the way he is good is very Loki-like. Loki will save Asgard... by lying to everyone, stealing the Destroyer, killing Thor, and rewriting history. Loki believes this all to ultimately be good because the end result is good and because Thor told him he would do the same. While Loki himself is satisfied with his actions, he does find others to be annoyingly hypocritical when they chide him for doing "evil" things in pursuit of good. He also has a soft spot for others like him, such as supporting the industrial revolution because it is CHANGE or adopting a puppy who everyone thinks is evil and irredeemable.

  • What is your character afraid of? How does avoiding or preventing these fears influence their actions and decisions?
Loki is afraid of growing older because he's afraid he'll become evil like his past self. To put it simply, Loki is afraid of himself, but it's easier for him to push all these worries onto the specter of his past self. However, in Loki's nightmares, it's notable that he never sees anything resembling his surface level fears. No evil past self, no suddenly aging, but instead having to face his own mistakes, such as a zombie Thor who blames him for his death. Deep down, Loki's not afraid of becoming evil. Rather he's afraid he's already failed, that at his core, he has always been and always will be evil. He avoids these thoughts by shoving them all into his evil self, Ikol, and continuously trying to do good to the point where it nearly kills him. Loki's good at lying, and he's the best at lying to himself. Whenever he can, he runs away from consequences and self-reflection. Loki prefers to dedicate himself to being "good" rather than consider his all too complicated feelings towards Asgard.

  • What goals does your character have right now? What do they want, and how do they go about getting it?
As detailed above, Loki's overarching goal is to change and be a good person. While that goal will continue here, his way about it will change. Knowing now that he dies in the future, he'll aim to prevent or avoid this in whatever way possible: allying with anyone he can, dedicating himself to mastering his new powers, and secretly electing to stay here rather than return to his proper universe and timeline. At the same time, he's been dropped in a world that doesn't know his past, doesn't know that he's supposed to be evil. Even with those from his universe, he's considered the "good" Loki next to Ikol. For once he has an opportunity to craft an identity for himself, but it's not something he's sure he wants yet, or what he wants it to be.

Gameplay —
Areas of Interest / Brainstorming: I'm really interested in Loki interacting with a universe so similar and yet different from his own. Superheroes and falling from the sky isn't strange to him, the strangest part will be people actually treating him like a child. On one hand, this gives him a chance to just be a kid and ignore all of the Loki baggage he's always carried with him. On the other, when given this option in canon, he's rejected it in favor of being Loki. I think he'll struggle on how to align himself with heroes and villains, eventually joining the more villainous side, though I think ultimately he intends to be a part of both. Or neither? Trickster stuff! I'm also really excited for him gaining powers and how this also will affect his identity and his relationship with others and his own morals. Other Lokis crave power and never having access to any of it, he's never felt a need. That'll likely change when he starts to realize what he's capable of, especially without an Asgard to protect. Also I want this kid to have friends and positive figures in his life please
